Occupation Pain Management

In theory, an opportunity to get away from the desk and computer is ideal, however it seems just as many problems seem to arise from board meetings and committees as from more traditional causes.

The basic problem is again sitting, sitting and yet more sitting- generally without the relief of being able to walk around after fifteen minutes or so. This problem is made worse by having to turn to talk to someone, quite often inducing neck strain or low back pain if this is done for long periods.

This is a much more difficult problem to solve, some innovative companies have standing meetings, which solve a lot of the sitting and rotational problems. One reasonably effective solution is to turn your chair to face someone. However different work environments demand individual solutions. Osteopathic treatment generally involves finding solutions that can be individually tailored.
