Case History Evaluation Tool

A later development of the DDOTS concept, the CHET was developed to teach students how to ask the right questions when evaluating a patient with low back pain. The idea is to ask an imaginary patient questions on their symptoms, based on a number of symptoms from a range of pathologies, some serious, others are more straightforward. The student is presented with three differential diagnoses after the question and answer session. One is correct, one is possible, the other is wrong. As with the DDOTS system, this is intended to sharpen clinical skills , not replace them.

This system is available as a web based application, but using a downloadable "prefetch" file. Unfortunately, it is only available on windows operating systems and only downloadable with Microsoft Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge.
